Our Story

ICAP Leather Chem is a young company but with more than 80 years of experience behind it. In fact although the Lainate location was opened in 1995, ICAP’s history begins after World War II, specifically in 1945. The company was founded in 1944, during World War II under the name ACCA (Azienda Coloranti Chimici e Affini – chemical company for dyes and similar products). In 1947 the company name was changed to ICAP (Industria Chimica Ausiliari per Pelli – chemical industry for leather auxiliaries).

In 1953, following the expansion of production activities, the company name was changed to ICAP Industria Chimica, and the company has since then played an important role in the production and marketing of quality chemicals for various industries.

The company today

In 1995 as a result of a business branch spin-off, ICAP Leather Chem was founded to signify already in its name its renewed focus on the leather industry market. As part of this strong focus on the target market, ICAP Leather Chem’s goal is to produce and supply customers, through accurate and timely service, with high quality products, while maintaining an unwavering commitment to continuous product improvement and environmental and health and safety protection.
